About Shree Vighnahar Ganapati
The Vigneshwara Temple, also known as the Vighnahar Ganapati Temple, is located in Ozar, Maharashtra, and is dedicated to Lord Ganesha, worshipped as "Vigneshwara" or "Vignahar," meaning "Lord" or "Remover of Obstacles." This temple is one of the eight revered Ashtavinayak temples. Though traditionally the seventh temple in the pilgrimage sequence, Ozar is often visited fifth due to route convenience.
According to legends from the Mudgala Purana, Skanda Purana, and Vinayaka Purana, the temple commemorates the event where Ganesha defeated the demon Vignasura (or Vigna), who caused obstacles in sacrifices and good deeds. After being defeated, Vignasura surrendered and agreed to stay away from places where Ganesha was worshipped. In some accounts, Vignasura was made an attendant of Ganesha and would only trouble those who failed to honour Ganesha. The sages of the time consecrated an idol of Ganesha as Vigneshwara at Ozar to honour this victory and ensure protection from obstacles.

मुद्गल पुराण, स्कंद पुराण, और विनायक पुराण की कथाओं के अनुसार, यह मंदिर उस घटना की याद में स्थापित किया गया है, जब गणेश ने विघ्नासुर (विघ्न राक्षस) को हराया था। विघ्नासुर यज्ञों और शुभ कार्यों में बाधा डालता था। गणेश की पूजा और प्रार्थना के बाद, उन्होंने विघ्नासुर से युद्ध किया। पराजित होकर विघ्नासुर ने समर्पण कर दिया और यह वचन दिया कि वह केवल उन्हीं स्थानों पर बाधा डालेगा जहाँ गणेश की पूजा नहीं की जाती। कुछ कथाओं में, विघ्नासुर गणेश का सेवक बन गया। ऋषियों ने भगवान गणेश की विघ्नेश्वर के रूप में प्रतिमा स्थापित की ताकि वे सभी बाधाओं से मुक्त रहें।
